The City of Brampton requires an Architectural Design Consultant to develop the design and administer the construction contract for the new Animal Shelter, Environmental Education Centre, and the Post Traumatic Growth Association located at 2719 Bovaird Drive West, Ward 6. The new Animal Shelter will have an approximate size of 28,000 sq. ft. and will support the services of the existing Animal Shelter in addition to offering new services. The new Environmental Education Centre will have an approximate size of 13,000 sq. ft. and will allow the Credit Valley Conservation to offer on-site educational programs to school boards, businesses, governments, etc. The new Post Traumatic Growth Association will have an approximate size of 2,000 sq. ft. and will provide space for veterans, law enforcement, and first responders a place where they can go for Peer support meetings, workshops, life-based activities, events in the community, and support groups for spouses and caregivers. The new Animal Shelter, Environmental Education Centre and the Post Traumatic Growth Association may be designed as a single facility or a series of facilities (campus style). It will be the responsibility of the Architect to work this out during the pre-planning and schematic phases. The Project Design Phase is expected to be completed by Q2 2025, with the construction expected to be completed in Q2 2027.
