The objective of this Bid call is to invite all eligible General Contractors to bid on a refrigeration plant and ice track replacement at Gage Park, Brampton.  

The existing refrigeration plant was installed in 1990 and has surpassed its useful life expectancy.  A number of key plant components such as the chiller, compressors and cooling tower have experienced multiple failures during the past few years. The existing exterior concrete ice pad was also built in 1990.  The concrete pad is exhibiting major and minor cracks throughout.  During the past two years, leaks in the embedded refrigeration piping have also occurred.  Replacement of the refrigeration plant and concrete ice pad is required to prevent further equipment and piping failures and avoid potential disruptions to the popular downtown winter attraction. 

The project will be implemented in its entirety during the timeframe indicated below:  

1. Anticipated construction start date: May 01, 2023.
2. Attain Substantial Performance of the work by: October 31, 2023.
3. The new refrigeration plant, refrigerant distribution system and concrete pad shall be fully operational and ready to make ice by no later than November the 13^th, 2023.
